Packing the boat for an all-day outing can lead to an extensive list of boating accessories. Towels, sunscreen, safety gear, boards, skis, tubes, etc., there is a lot to remember. One of the most important on the list, boat snacks. Spending a full day on the water can lead to a hungry crew quickly. Make sure you've packed ample snacks to keep your crew stoked all day!

First, we'll cover some Do's and Don'ts when it comes to picking out what to pack.

Do's

It's important to consider the size of your crew and how much space you have on the boat. In many cases, hand-held snacks like sandwiches, or individual sized snack bags, are the easiest way to utilize your space while still feeding the crew. Include foods that won't sour or melt in the sun, you'll want to save that cooler space for some ice cold drinks! Additionally, some extra hand wipes always go a long way.

Don'ts

You'll want to avoid any snacks that could lead to a mess. Chocolate will melt, candy will lead to sticky fingers, colorful crackers will leave their trace all over the boat, and sugary drinks are a pain to clean.  Put simply, avoid any easily spill-able foods or drinks and you're good to go!

With the Do's and Don'ts in mind, let's dive into our top 10 boat snacks for a full day on the water!

Top 10 Best Boat Snacks

1. Individual Snack Bags

These are easy to find anywhere and please everyone, especially the kiddos! Most grocery or convenience stores will have an assortment of cookies, chips, crackers, popcorn, and more with tons of flavors to choose from. We love these because they don't spoil in the sun or take up any room in the cooler!

2. Pre-cut Veggies and Dip

For fueling up between wakeboarding, wakesurfing, tubing, swimming, and all the other activities you'll enjoy throughout your day on the water, it's always a good idea to keep a healthy option on board. We recommend a thicker dip to avoid any spillage.

3. Sandwiches/Wraps

Sandwiches and wraps store easily in a cooler, and make for the perfect lunch to fuel you the rest of the day! We recommend placing these pre-made snacks in a Ziploc to keep them dry all day!

4. Pre-cut Fruit

Kids and adults alike always seem to crowd around the fruit when it's out! This one can be a little messier and leave the crew with some sticky fingers. Just be mindful of the types of fruit you are packing, pineapple chunks for example can lead to a sticky mess.

Additionally, we have to mention, bananas are said to be bad luck on boats. They sour pretty easily in the sun as well, so best to load up on that potassium before you hit the water!

5. Chips and Dip

Again, we recommend a thicker dip to avoid a mess, but this is another staple you can't go wrong with! Grab a couple different big chip bags, a dip or two, and pass 'em around. The crew will be stoked!

6. Jerky

Jerky is easy hand-held fuel that stores really well. Cooler or no cooler, this snack will hold up to the elements! Try out various dried meats and see which one gets the best reviews from the crew. This is a snack you'll always keep on your boat for some quick easy protein.

7. Dot's Pretzels

Dot's can leave some dusty fingers, but we've found this to be a favorite around the shop! There's just something about these pretzels that makes them so addicting, our crew can't get enough!

8. Trail Mix

This is another one that offers some healthy re-fueling and is easy to store! Bring the big bag out and dump some handfuls for the crew, they'll be stoked!

9. Pasta Salads

Many pasta salads will certainly spoil if not stored properly. If you have a second cooler to fill, or are going light on drinks for the day, pasta salads are a great option! You can do all the meal prep the night before, toss it in the fridge, and you'll be all set to go the next morning.

10. Pre-Sliced Meat and Cheeses

Just like the pasta salads, you don't want to leave this one out in the sun too long. Prep can be done the night before and stored easily in a large Tupperware container. Toss it in the cooler, grab some napkins or small plates, and you're good to go!
